What is recorded here

Lismore is a circular rath near the summit of a Galway hill, overlooking the Sinking River. Its bank and fosse still mark a 51.5m circle, though the southern edge has faded from sight. An underground passage remains nearby, inviting wonder about who dug it and what they hid beneath the grass.

Close to the summit of a hill in grassland overlooking the Sinking River to S. Well-preserved circular rath (D 51.5m) defined by a bank and external fosse. No visible surface trace of the enclosing elements survives from SE through S to W. Neary (1914, 111, no. 81) also mentions an 'outer bank, which was about 5ft. [1.52m] on N., [but which] disappears to S', all trace of which is also gone. A probable Man-made underground passage (GA017-116001-) is associated.
