In low-lying grassland. According to OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1927, Vol. 1, 239), this well was known as 'Tobar Soláin'. It was used as a penitential station up to 40-50 years ago. No visible surface trace survives. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
