Indicated is an overgrown oval enclosure on a low Galway hillock, large enough for a church and yard yet so dense with growth that exact measurement remains impossible. Local tradition speaks of penal mass inside, suggesting Catholic worship continued under restriction long after formal permission vanished. The name itself points inward, as if the place still marks what authority tried to erase.

On a low hillock. An overgrown oval enclosure (N-S c. 78m, E-W 65m), impossible to accurately survey owing to dense growth. It contains a CBG (GA054-039002-) in E sector. Its size, presence of CBG, townland name and local tradition of penal mass suggest that it was an E. Chr. ecclesiastical settlement.
