What is recorded here

Upslope from KE080-051----, on the E bank of the river, in dense forestry. A group of three huts set within an old field system. An oval enclosure, 6.5m in diameter, possibly a cattle-pen, occurs on the cliff-edge. Henry noted a cairn KE080-052004-, two dolmens (KE080-052005- & KE080-052006-) and a standing stone (KE080-052007-) at this location (1957, 79). None of these features were identified, though there are some amorphous mounds in the forest. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 1327. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 1 August 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
