Killiney church stands beside Marino Avenue West, where a stone wall now marks the edge of a cemetery that once wore an earthen rath. That old ring may have belonged to an ecclesiastical enclosure, giving the sacred place a boundary before human hands rebuilt it in stone. The change suggests continuity rather than invention: a living community kept the same ground, shaped it twice, and let the first form disappear under the second.

The church is located on the Marino Avenue West, leading E off Killiney Hill road. According to Wakeman (1892, 102) the cemetery was originally enclosed by an earthen rath, which was replaced by the present stone boundary wall.
