Leach-an-Faugha is a Court tomb in County Mayo, Ireland, known locally as Giant's Grave. Its 4m gallery holds two chambers divided by segmenting jambs, while huge orthostats and a displaced lintel mark where human hands shaped the dark. The cairn once stretched 15m across pasture now reclaimed from wilderness, suggesting buried lives still sleep beneath the grass.
Known locally as 'Giant's Grave'. Situated in recently reclaimed pasture. Site consists of a gallery (L 4m; Wth 1.6m), orientated approximately E-W. Entrance, at E. Two segmenting jambs (H 1.05m), 0.25m apart, divide the gallery into two chambers, one to the E (L 1.5m) and one to the W (L 2.3m). Jambs supported a lintel, now displaced, resting on gallery side. Two huge orthostats, one each on the N and S sides, form most of the gallery's outline. The backstone (H 1.55m) is at the W. Cairn material, (de Valera, ÓNualláin 1964, 85), since cleared, gave the site an overall length of 15m and a width of 9m.
