What is recorded here

The burial ground in Killeagh is in County Waterford, Ireland. The 1840 edition of the Ordnance Survey six-inch map marked a small rectangular enclosure, about 25 metres east to west and 20 metres north to south, as the site of a graveyard. That mapped place sits on a cliff overlooking a small east-west stream, but the 1999 inventory recorded that it is not visible at ground level.
Marked as a small rectangular enclosure (dims. c. 25m E-W; c. 20m N-S) and denoted 'Site of Grave Yard' on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Situated on a cliff overlooking a small E-W stream, it is not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 23 December 2008
