Fulacht Fian

Situated on a poorly drained, NW-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area with a stream immediately to the NE. A poorly preserved, horseshoe-shaped mound of burnt material (dims. 11m SW-NE; 13m NW-SE; H 0.5m) which is intersected by a modern drain at NE revealing burnt material. Drystone-walling four courses high is visible in the NE face of the drain. This may be the wall of the trough. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
