What is recorded here

In undulating grassland. An irregular enclosure (N-S c. 90m, E-W c. 38m) defined by a scarp (H 0.4m max.) from WSW through W to NW, and by a low degraded bank from NW through N to E. No trace survives from E through S to WSW. A field boundary overlies the bank from NW through N to NNE. A shallow external depression at W appears modern. A church (GA074-059002-) and graveyard (GA074-059002-) lie within the interior. A low rounded bank (L c. 19m) extends off the graveyard wall at NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
