What is recorded here

Kebble holds a scheduled ship graffito carved during the eighteenth or nineteenth century. The stones still carry the marker though the vessel and maker have vanished. Perhaps a sailor chiselled the proof of distance or simply killed time on a long voyage. The carve survives because somebody wanted the journey to be seen.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as Ship Graffito. Recorded period: C18TH/C19TH. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
