This blue commemorative plaque records: The Admiral's House. Admiral Page (1765-1845) lived here and was visited by Wellington in 1820
Field-Marshal Duke Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, was a British army officer who defeated Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, while Admiral Benjamin William Page RN served in the Royal Navy and hosted Wellington at his house in 1820.
