Inscribed stone in Ardfert

Inscribed stone

Why this matters

Dated to the early Christian period, likely between the 7th and 10th centuries, the inscribed stone may have had a liturgical or commemorative function, possibly linked to the monastic settlement associated with Ardfert Cathedral. No specific folklore is recorded, but such stones often marked sacred or territorial boundaries.
