Inistioge still keeps the Graveslab beside the Augustinian Priory, marking John Murphy and Elicia Power in 1631. The large IHS and cross rise from stone while Latin letters cut through time, naming two ordinary lives that became part of a town’s memory. To walk past it is to touch the edge of a world where love, death and faith were carved before they were forgotten.

In the graveyard (KK032-017020-) at the Augustinian Priory (KK032-017004-) in Inistioge. A floor slab with a large ‘IHS’ and cross in relief in the centre and a Latin inscription in Black Letter commemorating John Murphy, son of James, and his wife Elicia Power.
