John Bolger and Joan Murphey share a broken slab in the Augustinian Priory graveyard, their names still sharp around the edge although the middle snapped long ago. Joan died in 1616, but the stone refuses to release them cleanly. The cross rises through the fracture like a spine forcing itself through dirt, suggesting love and loss both break before they transform.

A floor slab, broken across the middle, with a raised cross down the centre and a raised inscription in Roman capitals running around the edge commemorating John Bolger and his wife Joan Murphey (d. 1616).
