Icehouse

What is recorded here

In the fosse at the SW corner of a possible moated site (KD008-019----). A small, poorly preserved, rectangular structure (int. dims. L 4.8m E-W; Wth 2.8m; H 2m) with a vaulted roof, is built of mortared rubble masonry. Both the E and W gable walls are partially collapsed, and there is no visible trace of a doorway, which was probably contained in one or other of these end-walls. The interior is partially filled with clay. The site may have been associated with Drummin House c. 800m to the SE. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 10 June 2011
