What is recorded here

Marked as a circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 25m) on the 1840 and the 1927 (ext. diam. c. 35-40m) eds of the OS 6-inch map. Situated on a shelf of the Comeragh Mountains overlooking a col between the mountains and Croughaun Hill to the E. Circular heather-covered area (diam. 20m N-S; 19.8m E-W) defined by a stone-walled bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.5-1m; ext. H 0.6-1.4m), with traces of a fosse (at E: Wth of top 3.1m; D 0.5m) E-S-N. There are gaps in the perimeter at SE and W, but there is no identifiable entrance. House (WA007-034----) is c. 35m to the S. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
