What is recorded here

Situated on level summit of a broad E-W orientated ridge in undulating pasture. Not depicted on the 1837 edition of the OS 6'' map but depicted as an an irregularly-shaped enclosure (dims. 11.5m WNW-ESE; 8.5m NE-SW) on the 1912 edition. Recorded in 1991 as an oval-shaped area enclosed by a low ruined wall. There was no indication of an entrance. The internal ground level was lower than that outside. The archaeologist interpreted it as a hut site (SMR file). It has since been levelled and there are no remains visible at ground level. However it's outline may be traced, albeit with difficulty, from aerial photographic coverage (ORTHO_ITM). Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 21 April 2011
