What is recorded here

On top of low hillock on NE-facing slope of rising grassland in upland area with good views from N to E and higher ground to SW. Nearby enclosures (TS049-016----/TS049-017----) 45m to S and 165m to E respectively. Poorly preserved enclosure of which only a portion of the earth and stone bank and outer fosse survives from SE to S, elsewhere it has been levelled. Enclosure is intersected at E by a field boundary and has a silage pit immediately to the SW. Originally the monument consisted of a raised circular area (approx. int. diam. 30m N-S; H 0.5m) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 3.5m; base Wth 4m; int. H 0.2m; ext H 1m) and external fosse (base Wth 3m; top Wth 6m; ext. D 0.3m). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
