What is recorded here

Situated on a broad, low hill. This is a D-shaped area (dims c. 100m N-S; c. 100m E-W) defined by a water filled moat (Wth 6-20m) enclosing a semicircular area SW-N-E, with the moated site (WX048-023003-) abutting the inside of the moat at SE. The castle site (WX048-023001-) is in the N interior and the centre is occupied by farm buildings. The abpve description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 7 January 2014
