What is recorded here

Marked as a rectangular platform (dims. c. 75m NE-SW; c. 65m NW-SE) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6 inch map, and situated on a slight SE-facing slope. It is described locally as a rectangular area that had wide moats. It is not visible at ground level in pasture, but it was probably a moated site. (Barrry 1977, 221 WX 64) The abpve description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2012
