What is recorded here

On a rise in undulating grassland. Poorly preserved conjoined ringfort. An E-W running road separates the two raths. The N example (E-W 45m), D-shaped in plan, is defined by a scarp with an external fosse from NW to ESE. The S rath (N-S 46m, E-W 41.5m), subcircular in plan, is defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The fosse and outer bank survive from SW to NW. A Man-made underground passage (GA016-042001-) lies within the interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
