Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

In level pasture. Circular, slightly raised area (30m N-S; 30m E-W) enclosed by low, eroded earthen bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1m). Bank severely eroded in parts; planted with well-spaced mature deciduous trees. Interior slopes gently down to NE; used as dumping ground. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 316) as single-ramparted fort (diam. 38yd; bank 5ft H) on J. O'Connor's land; fosse infilled. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
