What is recorded here

On a SE-facing slope of Mewlaghadooey Hill. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 43m NW-SE; 41m NE-SW) defined by a slight earthen bank (Wth 5m; int. H 0.2m) N-E-SE which is preserved under a NE-SW field bank (Wth 6.6m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.3m) SE-S but the perimeter is reduced to a scarp (H 0.2m) elsewhere. The fosse is well-preserved (Wth of top 6.5m; Wth of base 1.5m; ext. D 0.3m) SE-S and traceable (Wth of top 4-4.5m; D 0.1-0.2m) elsewhere. There is no identifiable original entrance, but there are slight traces of an outer bank (Wth c. 4m; ext. H 0.1m) N-NE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
