What is recorded here

In pasture, located in lowlying terrain. There is rise in ground level immediately to W and a dip into a natural hollow immediately to E. The Palmerstown River is located c. 180 M to N. This enclosure is not shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is shown on the 25-inch plan as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) with trees planted in the interior, and on the 1922 6-inch edition as a subcircular enclosure with no trees. It was levelled during land reclamation; there is no visible trace at ground level. According to local information, it was enclosed by a high, wide earthen bank, and was known as the ‘Round garden’.
