What is recorded here

In pasture, located on top of a ridge with excellent views over the surrounding undulating landscape. There is a stream 100m to SW. A modern house is located immediately to W. Raised circular area (31.4m NW–SE; 32m NE–SW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.4m at E, 4m at W; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.75m at E, 1.9m at W). Stones protruding from the inner face of the bank may be remnants of stone facing. A gap (Wth 3.6m) in the bank at ESE is probably the site of the original entrance. The interior is generally level, but appears to be slightly higher in the NW quadrant. A field wall on a roughly E−W axis traverses the N edge of the interior, flanking the S side of a road, which skirts the rath, respecting its curve and clipping the external slope of the bank. According to local tradition, there is a Man-made underground passage (MA072-039001-) in the rath interior. A few hawthorn trees grow around the perimeter.
