What is recorded here

In pasture, located on top of a ridge with extensive views. There is a stream 140m to S and another 300m to N; these streams coincide with the S and N boundaries of the townland. Raised circular area or platform (31.5m N–S; 31.5m E–W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.8m; int. H 0.3m at N, 0.75m at S; ext. H 2m at N, 1.75m at S). Stone protruding in parts at the base of the inner face of the bank may be the remains of a kerb. At SE–NNW the bank is incorporated into a N−S field fence. There is no clearly defined entrance, but it may have been to ESE where the bank is noticeably lower and slumped. The interior is level. There is a sod-covered stony mound (diam. 3.5m; H 0.5m) slightly NE of centre, possibly a field clearance cairn. A Man-made underground passage (MA072-007001-) is located in the N half of the interior. The rath is lightly ringed with hawthorn and blackthorn. There is a telegraph pole stands on the bank at SE.
