Hut site in Scarteen (dunkerron South By.)

On a steep S facing slope midway between Knocklomena and Boughil mountains. A complex of nine crudely built structures and enclosures of boulder construction. None survive more than one to two courses high. Internal diameters range from 1.3m to 3.9m, and the enclosures probably relate to farming activities in the area. Old field walls are visible in the immediate vicinity. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
