What is recorded here

A long, narrow headland projects into Doldrum Bay on the SE corner of Howth Head. During construction of the Baily lighthouse an extensive kitchen midden was revealed at the base of the cliff (Brunicardi 1914, 189, Stokes 1893, 451)). Compiled by: Geraldine Stout Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
