A dwelling is described in the Civil Survey (1654-6) as in 'Ballycomane' there stands 'two thatcht houses' under the ownership in 1640 of 'Sir Morish Hurly Knocklongy in ye County of Lymick Knight Irish Papist' (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 300). The dwellings are also depicted on the Down Survey (1655-6) map. Both houses are unlocated within the townland.
