Holy well in Clooney

There is a reference to a St Patrick's Well in Clooney townland at the very edge of Keshcarrigan Lake, which was often covered by the lake water. There were no stations or pattern held at the well at the time (Faughnan 1944). The holy well in Clooney is associated with St Patrick and was historically located near Keshcarrigan Lake, often submerged by rising water levels. While no pattern days or stations were recorded at the site, its connection to Ireland’s most venerated saint suggests it may have been a site of pilgrimage or devotional practice in earlier times.
