Lawrencetown in Knocknagore is a post-medieval settlement where human life left marks broad enough for archaeology to identify but details thin enough for imagination to fill. The name suggests somebody called Lawrence lived there long enough for the place to take his shape. What is certain is that the land remembers a town, and what is missing is the laughter, argument and ordinary days that made the town worth remembering.
