
Why this matters
Fyvie Castle, including Racquets Court, was originally built by the Forbes family in the 13th century, with significant expansions occurring in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is important as a historic seat of the Forbes earls and for its well-preserved medieval and later architecture, including the unique Racquets Court added in the 17th century.
