Why this matters
St Ninian's Episcopal Cathedral in Perth is dedicated to St Ninian, a 5th-century Christian missionary traditionally associated with the conversion of the Picts. While the cathedral itself is a 19th-century structure, the veneration of St Ninian has deep roots in Scottish tradition, particularly in the southeast where he is considered the patron saint of Scotland prior to St Andrew.
