Urquhart Castle

Urquhart Castle, located on the shores of Loch Ness, was originally built by the MacKintosh clan in the 13th century and later held by the Earls of Ross and the Crown of Scotland. It is important due to its strategic location and its long history of military conflict, as well as its association with Scottish resistance to English rule.
