Erchless Castle is a medieval tower house in the Highland that the Chisholm family has owned since the 15th century. William Chisholm paid Thomas Muirson three thousand pounds in 1815 to build a new wing, garden wall, bridge and roads around it. The castle still keeps its original L-shape, though it has changed often since people first climbed its stairs.
