The Short Sunderland was a British flying boat used primarily by the Royal Air Force during World War II for maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare. One such aircraft was lost in the Cromarty Firth in the 20th century, though exact dates and circumstances of the wreck remain unclear; it is now recorded as a historic aircraft wreck in Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment.
