Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Shurrery as Long Cairn (neolithic)(possible), Site (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Neolithic long cairn, dating to the early to middle Neolithic period (circa 3700–3000 BCE). Such tombs are significant as communal burial monuments reflecting early social organisation and ritual practices in Scotland.
