Urquhart Castle

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Urquhart Castle as Jetty (period Unassigned), Pier (21st Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Urquhart Castle, located on the shores of Loch Ness, was originally built by the MacKintosh clan in the 13th century and later held by the Earls of Ross and the Crown of Scotland. It is important for its strategic location and its role in medieval Scottish history, as well as for its association with the legendary Loch Ness Monster.
