St Mary's Well

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records St Mary's Well as Holy Well (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

St Mary's Well is associated with the veneration of the Virgin Mary, a common feature of many holy wells in Scotland and Ireland. Traditionally, such wells were visited for healing and blessings, often with rituals involving the collection of water for sick or ailing family members.
