Eigg, Kildonnan

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Eigg, Kildonnan as Cross Incised Stone (early Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Linked to Saint Donnan of Eigg, the site is associated with early Christian monastic activity on the island of Eigg. Saint Donnan, a 7th-century Irish monk, founded a monastery there which was destroyed in a Viking raid, and the stone may mark a place of religious significance connected to his martyrdom and legacy.
