Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Golspie as Cist(s) (prehistoric). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

A cist burial, likely dating to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age; such small stone chambers were commonly used for inhumation burials and are significant for understanding early funerary practices in northern Scotland.
