Croft Castle has anchored the Croft family in Herefordshire since 1085, surviving financial ruin, foreign sale and a century of absence before returning to their hands in 1923. Its walls carry echoes of Owain Glyndŵr’s daughter, the blood spilled at Mortimer’s Cross, and Thomas Farnolls Pritchard’s gothic staircase. The house is not a museum of dead facts but a living record of endurance, where family pride outlasted debt and distance.
