This blue commemorative plaque records: Lewis Carroll (1832-1898) writer and scholar was a frequent visitor to this house, the home of his aunts the Misses Lutwidge Recorded plaque organisation: Old Hastings Preservation Society.
Rev Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll, was a renowned author famous for "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and its sequel; he was also a mathematics lecturer at Christ Church, Oxford.
