This red commemorative plaque records: Opened 1942 as RAF Hartford Bridge, later BLACKBUSHE AIRPORT. From 1946, hosted many independent airlines before closure in 1960. Re-opened 1962 Recorded plaque organisation: National Transport Trust.
Blackbushe Airport served as a critical hub for independent airlines post-World War II, contributing significantly to the development of commercial aviation in Britain from 1946 until its initial closure in 1960.
