This blue commemorative plaque records: In this building on 19 August 1785 The Odiham Agricultural Society concerned "That farriery is conducted without science and greatly to the injury of our animals" resolved to fund "Scientific Farriery". This led in 1791 to the founding of The Veterinary College of London the UK's first such college Recorded plaque organisation: Royal Veterinary College Graduates Association.
The Odiham Agricultural Society, meeting here in 1785, recognized the need for scientific farriery, leading to the establishment of the UK's first veterinary college in 1791, significantly advancing animal healthcare.
