STANDING STONE in Grogey

STANDING STONE

What is recorded here

Grosseys standing stone still rises from the Fermanagh field, a prehistoric marker left behind when human memory faded. It may have guided herds, marked a boundary or witnessed rituals now lost to time. The stone does not need a date to be powerful because it still occupies the earth and forces every person past it to acknowledge what was already known.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN; PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
