SETTLEMENT in Gresteel More

SETTLEMENT

What is recorded here

Gresteel More held a settlement during the post-medieval and seventeenth centuries, long after the first dark ages faded. People likely built shelters, farmed soil and faced violent conflicts while living beside the more. The ground still carries that forgotten pressure even when no wall remains for a stranger to touch.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as SETTLEMENT. Recorded period: POST-MED; C17TH. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
