Graveslab in Unknown Townland

17th-century graveslab of Dublin City Alderman, Robert Arundell (d. 1675) and his wife Lucretia who died in 1671, located in the disused graveyard (DU018-494----) formerly known as the ‘Green Churchyard’ or the ‘Vicar’s Bawn' located to the E and SE of St Patrick’s Cathedral (DU018-020269-) which was closed for burials in 1868.  Inscription on the graveslab of Robert Arundell transcribed by Mrs. T. Long in 1905 as a; ‘Flat slab with a large coat-of-arms in relief. The inscription is hardly visible, and appears to have been originally lightly incised ; it is preserved among the Cathedral records. Here lieth the Body of Robert Arundell of the city of Dublin Ald[derma]n deceased ye 9 of September Anno Domini 1675 and his wife Lucretia deceased the 29 day of February Anno Domini 1671' (Anon. 1906, 308).
