What is recorded here

This 17th-C graveslab, which was brought to the attention of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland by Dr Christy Cunniffe, is lying against the S wall of the chancel of the church (GA117-065001-). It is earthfast and tapers from top to bottom (H 1.58m; Wth at base 0.76m; Wth at shoulder 0.66m; Wth at top 0.20m). It varies in thickness from 0.14m to 0.17m and the shoulder is at a height of 1.41m. It is dated 1640 but the inscription is illegible. The slab is covered with lichen. Two similar fragmentary graveslabs also lie within the church (see GA117-065006- and GA117-065007-).
