Why this matters

A medieval Christian graveslab; dates to the late medieval period. It is significant as a rare surviving example of funerary art within a religious context, reflecting the use of Latin inscriptions and raised crosses in commemorative stone work.

In the Lady Chapel at the Augustinian Priory (KK032-017004-) in Inistioge. A floor slab with a raised cross in the centre with a Latin inscription in Black Letter commemorating William Bosser [ alias Busher]. The slab is dated 1522.
